Material gauges should be selected based on product type, panel size, and specific engineering requirements for different applications. In four-season areas or near the sea, it’s crucial to invest in quality materials to avoid higher maintenance costs later. Opt for aluminum with an architectural-grade AAMA 2604 powder coat finish, or consider a fluoropolymer AAMA 2605 (PVDF or FEVE) finish for greater longevity, especially in high-rise applications. Aluminum is significantly more durable than cold-rolled steel. For interior finishes, Cold Rolled Steel or Hot Rolled Steel are suitable options. Tiger Drylac 49 is an excellent choice for interiors, offering cost savings compared to the 38 series, and nearly infinite color options are available with an AAMA 2603 powder coat finish for further cost efficiency.
BŌK offers a signature pattern collection designed in-house, featuring innovative and beautiful designs. To save on costs, simpler patterns with fewer laser penetrations are recommended. Larger openings and less complex patterns reduce laser time and costs. Avoid patterns with very small holes; instead, plan for a minimum diameter of 3/4” and 1” centers, with the minimum distance between pattern openings being around twice the panel thickness.
